The opening ribbon-cutting ceremony and conference co-organized by the China-Singapore Young Entrepreneurs General Chamber of Commerce (CSYEC) and the Asian Corporate CEO Alliance (ACCA) were held at the Hong Kong Entrepreneurship Centre (HKEC) of the CSYEC on 16th April, with Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr. Barry Chan, as the officiating guest of honour. The ribbon-cutting ceremony and the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between the two organizations were led by Mr. Leung Man Kit, Founding Chairman of YCEC and Ms. Pang Yuk Ling, Founding Chairman of the Asia Business Coalition of Chief Executives (ABCE), together with Mr. Chan and other officiating guests. The Young Entrepreneurs Chamber, the Asia Business Coalition and the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau (CEDB) also exchanged views on Hong Kong's economic development, exploring the current state of the local economy and the implementation of relevant policies. It is hoped that the strategic partnership between the two associations will build a bridge between Hong Kong's entrepreneurs, injecting new strength and vitality into Hong Kong.
The aim of the China-Singapore Chamber of Commerce (CSC) is to establish a platform for cooperation and exchanges between young entrepreneurs from China and Singapore. The objective of the CSC is to bring together elite entrepreneurs from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore, to promote exchanges and sharing of resources among the four regions, to further strengthen cooperation and development, and to create a win-win situation for all. The mission of the President's Alliance is to provide a high-level exchange platform to help Asian business leaders share best practices, inspire innovative thinking, build strategic partnerships, and work together to meet current and future challenges. The collaboration will provide an important platform to help local entrepreneurs "go global" and access more resources for development in markets such as the Mainland and Southeast Asia, as well as to "bring in" overseas enterprises to Hong Kong by facilitating the exchange of talents and resources across the Strait and utilizing Hong Kong's local advantages. In 2024, Hong Kong has attracted more than 500 enterprises to set up in Hong Kong, representing an increase of about 40% over 2023. Therefore, the timely cooperation between CNAIC and the CEO Alliance will help to rapidly promote the growth of Hong Kong's business and economic sectors, which is full of potential and power for future development.
Mr. Chan said he was pleased to see that CNAHK had joined hands with the President of the Alliance to help entrepreneurs face various challenges and problems, and that the Government was committed to supporting the development of non-government networks of private enterprises. At present, Hong Kong's competitiveness is well recognized by the international community as the world's number one free economy, and various statistics show that entrepreneurs and investors around the world have full confidence in Hong Kong's development prospects. In the future, we will further develop our economic and trade network and continue to expand the number of our economic and trade offices, so that we can continue to do a better job of "bringing in and bringing out".
Mr. Leung said that the establishment of the platform has always been based on the principle of "Bringing Out, Bringing In", and hoped to create a win-win platform, so that young entrepreneurs in the face of a variety of challenges in the environment, can help each other to support and lead them to develop more unlimited possibilities. At the same time, the two sides will continue to strengthen communication and work together to write a new chapter of cooperation between the two organizations, tell the story of Hong Kong and China, and contribute positively to the promotion of business development in Hong Kong.
Pang Yuk Ling was honored by the presence of Barry Chan and his witnesses. The aim of both CNA and CEO Alliance is to unite entrepreneurs, and it is believed that through the combination of young entrepreneurs with innovative ideas and experienced entrepreneurs of the previous generation, we will be able to lead more new directions in the future, and we look forward to closer ties and cooperation in the future.
